Kago Residents Showed Their Enthusiasm In Receiving Soccer Balls From Habema

NKRIPOST ILAGA PUNCAK – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Puncak Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Thursday, 28 November 2024, the 323 Task Forces conducted Social Communication (Komsos) with some children of Kago Village, Ilaga District, while conducting an area protection patrol.
Emphasizing the pivotal role of the community, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, the 323 Task Forces Commander, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community’s fundamental needs in the assigned area. Therefore, on Thursday, the Soldiers took advantage of the protection tasks through interaction and communication with the residents. The purpose of that interaction was to distribute sports equipment from the Chief of Indonesian Army, General Maruli Simanjuntak, to the Kago residents.

While maintaining their focus on security, the Soldiers took the opportunity to communicate in harmony with the residents. In this communication, the Soldiers and the residents conducted soccer joint practice to utilize the free distribution by the Chief of Army. In response to the Soldiers’ role, a resident, Mario Tabuni, said, “Thank you, Commander 323. We are happy to receive the free soccer balls from the Chief of Army.” This heartwarming response from the children underscores the impact of the Army’s efforts and the unity and support in the assigned area, providing a sense of reassurance and security.
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 323 Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with Kago residents. His words: “The 323 Task Forces’ initiative is a testament to TNI’s commitment to conduct inclusive social communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.” This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the significant impact of such initiatives on the region’s development, instilling profound hope and optimism about their potential to positively shape the region’s future.
